About this show

Muslimgauze, the pseudonym of Bryn Jones (born June 17, 1961 – died January 14, 1999), was a British musician known for his releases inspired by political causes arising from the Arab-Israeli conflict. With over 140 albums under his pseudonym, he combined heavy percussion and layered noise and field recordings with folk compositions, creating scattered, isolated, yet hopeful soundscapes. Each album is a graphic manifesto, a manifesto of propaganda, resistance, and liberation, as violent as the sound that permeates it, leaving little room for interpretation. Kenopsia will present a sparse, stripped-back selection of some of Muslimgauze's songs, in a much-needed tribute, layering each composition meticulously to breathe new life into it. This is for an artist who should not be forgotten, for a cause that remains, sadly, alive and necessary.
